Comme c'est jeudi....<br /> <br /> THE INVITATION<br /> <br /> L’INVITATION<br /> <br /> <br /> It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.<br /> Ça ne m’intéresse pas de savoir ce que tu fais pour vivre<br /> I want to know what you ache for,<br /> Je veux savoir ce que tu désires<br /> and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.<br /> Et si tu oses rêver de rencontrer ce que ton cœur regrette <br /> <br /> It doesn’t interest me how old you are.<br /> Ça ne m’intéresse pas de connaitre ton âge<br /> I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu prendrais le risque de passer pour un fou par amour<br /> for your dreams, for the adventure of being alive.<br /> Pour tes rêves, pour l’aventure d’être vivant<br /> <br /> It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon.<br /> Ça ne m’intéresse pas de savoir sous quel signe tu es née<br /> I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu as découvert le centre de ta propre peine<br /> if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or<br /> si les trahisons de la vie t’ont éveillé ou si tu t’es <br /> have become shriveled or closed from fear of further pain!<br /> replié ou fermé par crainte des douleurs à venir<br /> <br /> I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux t’assoir avec la douleur , la mienne ou la tienne,<br /> without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.<br /> Sans tenter de la dissimuler ou l’effacer ou la traiter <br /> I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux ressentir la joie , la mienne ou la tienne<br /> if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstacy fill you<br /> si tu peux danser avec sauvagerie et laisser l’extase t’envahir<br /> to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us<br /> jusqu’au bout de tes doigts et orteils sans te rappeler <br /> to be realistic or to remember the limitations of being human.<br /> d’être raisonnable ou de te souvenir des limites de l’être humain<br /> <br /> It doesn’t matter to me if the story you’re telling is true.<br /> Il m’est égal de savoir si l’histoire que tu racontes est vraie<br /> I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself;<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux décevoir l’autre pour être honnête avec toi<br /> if you can bare the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.<br /> Si tu peux supporter l’accusation de trahison et ne pas trahir ton propre esprit<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux être fidèle et donc être digne de confiance<br /> I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux voir la beauté même si chaque jour n’est pas joli<br /> I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine,<br /> je veux savoir si tu peux vivre avec l’échec, le tien et le mien<br /> and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, " Yes!"<br /> et pourtant te dresser au bord d’un lac et hurler “ouiiiii” à l’argent de la pleine lune<br /> <br /> It doesn’t interest me who you are, how you came to be here.<br /> Ça ne m’intéresse pas de savoir qui tu es ni pourquoi tu es là<br /> I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me<br /> Je veux savoir si tu resteras avec moi , devant le feu , <br /> and not shrink back.<br /> Sans te reculer<br /> It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied<br /> Ça ne m’intéresse pas de savoir où , avec qui et ce que tu as étudié<br /> I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.<br /> Je veux savoir ce qui , à l’intérieur de toi , te maintient alors que tout s’effondre autour <br /> I want to know if you can be alone with yourself,<br /> Je veux savoir si tu peux être seul avec toi-même<br /> And if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.<br /> Et si tu aimes sincèrement cette compagnie des moments vides<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Le rêveur des montagnes , un poète de la tribu Shawnee , 1863 OHIO
